  • INFO: Hailing from Long Island, New York, Dr. Acula have created an enormous buzz in the hardcore scene with their unique brand of grindcore. With over 3 million plays on MySpace and an almost cultish live following, the band has built a huge national fan base entirely upon DIY touring and a self produced, basement recorded album "S.L.O.B." ("Silver Lipped Operator Of Bullshit").
  • Most bands have two or three samples per album, Dr. Acula has up to three per song. Cheesy dance music/electronic sections usually last around ten seconds and add to the "spazziness" of the songs, Dr. Acula's electronic sections may last up to I think you get the picture, now onto the actual music.

  • very poor: Jared Floryan | November 18th In terms of the vocals, Below Me fares slightly better in this regard compared to the previous Dr. Acula offering, though this partycore band still insist on using tired Goosebumps references for song titles and the instrumentals smell of so much repetition that the album makes for a vastly boring listen; "Calling All Creeps" is admittedly.
  • May 27,  · A few nights ago on Dr. Acula's headlining run titled "The Devil's Canadian Party Tour", I caught up with drummer Jesse Ciappa, and guitarists Ricky Ostolaza and Bill Graffeo to talk about the band's current tour and their upcoming album "Nation", out June 19th! You guys are on totally different tour packages all the time,.
  • This album is extremely good if you've never heard any of Dr. Acula's older stuff. In fact it's one of my most played albums. However compared to some of Dr. Acula's older albums, like S.L.O.B. and Chillogy, Below Me really falls short. If you like Dr. Acula Make sure to get the re-releases of both S.L.O.B. and Chillogy when they come out/5(4).
  • The band went on two DIY tours across the USA in the summer and fall of They gained the attention of Uprising Records, and Dr. Acula was eventually signed to the label. The following year their debut-full-length album, Below Me was released through Uprising, receiving mixed critical reception.
